The Fourth Fold Tartan
The Fourth Fold tartan is a registered tartan created for Fourth Fold Construction, carrying on a tradition used not only by Scottish clans and families, but also by companies, organizations, and institutions. Its pattern was designed with symbolic meaning, reflecting the values behind the company: craftsmanship, trust, endurance, integrity, and a readiness to do hard work well.

Thacher Karner
Owner and Contractor
Thacher grew up in Vermont and worked at his father’s furniture shop. He then helped build treehouses and log cabins for a summer camp in North Carolina. His work as a home builder then helped him found Fourth Fold Construction. Through his years of experience, he gained many skills and now specializes in high-end deck construction.
Kyla Timog
Master Builder
Kyla is a 2019 graduate of the residential carpentry program at North American trade school in Maryland, with over five years of field experience in remodels, restorations, and new builds. She joined Fourth Fold in February 2025, where she continues to contribute her craftsmanship and expertise to a wide range of projects. She brings an eye for detail, strong technical knowledge, and an ability to combine creativity with precision to every job.
